An escape from mount that reconnects an elbow and knee to recover guard.
How to read it
What this entry helps you see
The elbow to knee escape uses frames and a bridge to make space, then slides a knee through to rebuild guard. It is the counterpart to holding mount. Recover structure before rushing, and protect the neck throughout.
Key steps
- From under mount, keep your elbows tight and frame against the partner hips.
- Bridge sharply to one side to shift the partner weight forward.
- As you land, bring your elbow and knee together on that side to make a gap.
- Slide the knee through the gap toward the centerline.
- Recover half guard or full guard and rebuild your frames.
