Frames
Skeletal structures that preserve usable space and redirect pressure.
How to read it
What this entry helps you see
A frame is useful when its alignment carries pressure into the floor or another stable structure. The goal is not to push forever. The goal is to keep enough space and alignment to move your hips, recover a guard, or improve your angle.
Study cues
- Connect elbow and knee structures
- Aim pressure through bone rather than muscle
- Use the space created by the frame immediately
Common errors
- Straight-arm pushing without support
- Letting elbows drift away from the torso
- Framing without moving the hips
